This is a good use of the new BCW e-mailing groups
list. I welcome any and all to use this list to
promote pool tournaments or other pool related events!
However, I'm asking that nobody abuse this and try to
use this list for advertising, SPAM, chain emails, or
other unwanted emails. If somebody does this, your

I am hoping to get the 2006-07 BCW schedule out by this weekend and
the newsletters in the mail by next Monday, but I am still waiting
to hear back from a couple of the rooms. In the meantime, I want to
let everyone know about our kick-off event for the 2006-07 season.
The details are below. Also, here are the details for the first
couple of tournaments of the year...

Saturday, September 30th, Carom Room, Class B Event
Sunday, October 7th, Boomer's Billiards, Class A Event

THE 2007 BCW SEASON KICKS OFF AT BO DUDLEY'S IN OSHKOSH,
ON SEPTEMBER 23RD-24TH, WITH A SPECIAL $1000 ADDED EVENT!
We will be starting the 2006-07 BCW season with a special event
hosted at Bo-Dudley's the weekend of Sept 23rd–24th. The event will
start at noon both days, with practice at 11 AM. This will be a two-
day event. The goal is to get a full field of 64 players, with the
top 12 or 16 returning on Sunday. If we have 24 or more players,
there will be $500 added. If we get 32 or more players, there will
be $1000 added!!! The handicapping will be the same as the BCW this
year, with B players going to 6, A players going to 7, Master and
out-of-state players going to 8, and Pro Players going to 9; with a
single bracket for this competition. The race will also be to the
player's handicap minus one on the loser's side. In addition, for
this tournament only, B players will pay a $40 entry fee, A players
will pay a $50 entry fee, Master and out-of-state players a $60
entry fee, and Pro players a $75 entry fee. Players must also pay
their BCW membership (which is $20 annually) to play in this event,
but this will cover you for the entire 2006-07 BCW event. If a
player is only interested in playing in this single event, a reduced
$10 membership fee may be paid, but you will not be eligible to play
in additional BCW events during the course of 2006-07. If a full
field of 64 is achieved, the approximate prizes for the top 4
positions will be $1400 for first, $700 for second, $350 for third,
and $250 for fourth, with the top 20% to 25% of the field paid. In
addition, we are looking to get sponsorship for this tournament and
may be able to award a cue or two for the top finishers. Finally,
participants will also receive points towards the 2006-07 BCW points
lists for participation in this event. Advance entrees will be
taken, so if you want to guarantee yourself a spot for this event,
please send in your check to the following address. Otherwise, we
will take entrees the day of the tournament as long as there are
spots still open. If anyone has any questions about this event,
please feel free to contact me (414-232-9820 or frank@...).

I apologize this is a few days late, I had hoped to
have this out this past weekend. However, I was still
trying to get confirmations from a couple of rooms so
the schedule could be complete. That is done now, so
here is the newsletter for everyone. Don't forget the
kick-off event we have on September 23rd/24th at Bo
Dudley's in Oshkosh. Hope to see many of you there!

Frank,

I used to play in the BCW and have not been able to for several years.  I am going to try and make it to a couple this year and need to know what my ranking is.  I think that at one point I was classified as a Master but may have been lowered to an A.  As I mentioned, this was several years ago so I don’t remember.

Thanks in advance for your help on this,

Championship will no longer be at the Blue Chalk Club

I am currently looking for another venue for this

Well, I certainly would consider Shark's club, but my
first choice for an alternate place is Romine's. I've
spoken to them already about this, and while I don't
have official word from them yet, it's looking
promising. I'll let everyone know as soon as I hear

all of the divisions as of right now, but both the A
and B divisions are filling up fast, so I'd get your
entries in soon. The Straight Pool and One Pocket are
also both about half full, but since I am only taking
16 entries for each of these, they will likely fill up
pretty soon as well!

Frank would like to sign up in A and B  9 ball but haven't played BCW at all this year. Can I do this?
Thanks Rich Gibson

It's now official... we now have an alternate location
for the 2007 BCW State Championship. It will be at
Romine's High Pockets in Greenfield, and it will be
held the weekend of April 20th - 22nd. I plan to
personally contact everyone who has already submitted
an entry, but I'm asking that everyone who receives
this email pass this message along to anyone else they
know that might be interested in participating.
Thanks!

Frank Prather
BCW President
